| Niall
Johnson, scriptwriter of White Noise
is a
director of bladon subsidiary Purple
Haze Productions.
When
Niall first got underway creating
the idea that would be developed into
White Noise, he began from the idea
that perhaps, if it were possible
to contact a lost friend, relative
or loved one then the enticement would
probably be too strong to resist,
and that your average person would
actually go to enormous lengths, even
putting themselves at huge risks in
order to
try.
In
order to move this from an idea to
reality Niall submerged himself in
deep research and found that a strong
base of EVP enthusiasts not only exists
but has done so for some time. Niall
also found these enthusiasts to be
deeply scientific and very organised
about their findings…. The idea developed
into the movie release we have today
after much surfing the web and in-depth
meetings with a few EVP gurus like
Sue Macdonald, the
Butlers and Sarah
Estep.

White
Noise Synopsis
Michael
Keaton plays successful architect
Jonathan Rivers, whose peaceful existence
is shattered by the unexplained disappearance
and death of his wife, Anna (Chandra
West). Jonathan is eventually contacted
by a man (Ian McNeice), who claims
to be receiving messages from Anna
through EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon),
the process through which the dead
communicate with the living through
household recording devices. At first
skeptical, Jonathan then becomes convinced
of the messages' validity, and is
soon obsessed with trying to contact
her on his own. His further explorations
into EVP and the accompanying supernatural
messages unwittingly open a door to
another world, allowing something
uninvited into his life.
